The
weeks leading up to the holidays can be very busy. It is easy to get
distracted by things like shopping, cleaning, and prepping for visitors.
These tasks can cause the little things to go unnoticed. Thanksgiving
is just a few days away. This is a special time to get together with the
special people in your life. For some it may be the only time
throughout the year that you see them. It is important to use this
family gathering as an opportunity to look around and ask yourself a few
questions. How are your parents handling retirement? Are there
projects or repairs that need done around the house? Has their health
status declined?
Depending on the answers, now may be the
right time to start a conversation about downsizing some of their
possessions or even relocating to a home that better fits their needs.
Starting the conversation can be difficult, but I can help every step of
the way. I am sure you will have many questions. I work closely with a
network of professionals that can help in a variety of ways.
As
life changes, it may become necessary to leave a familiar home and part
with personal belongings in order to downsize and relocate to a smaller
home or retirement community. At Caring Transitions of Upstate South Carolina, we
help our clients understand the process, evaluate their options and make
informed decisions that suit their best interests. We are committed to
making each client’s experience positive by minimizing stress and
maximizing results.
From
sorting through years of memories, working with estate planners,
coordinating movers and real estate agents to designing a functional and
comfortable floor plan, our compassionate and experienced team can be
involved as much or as little as you like. We’ll serve as your family’s
advocate, ensuring your best interests are kept in mind throughout the
process.
November is the perfect time to reflect on the countless
blessings in our lives. As you get together with your loves ones over
the Thanksgiving holiday please give thanks for all they do for you and
others, enjoy your time together, and plan to get together with them
again soon.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns at 864-243-8805.
Happy Thanksgiving,
